50% of the total charter cost is due to secure the reservation with the remaining balance due 30 days prior to the charter. If the charter is booked within 30 days the full balance is required to secure the reservation.
Chesapeake Bay Location: Our boats are located at Liberty Marina & Yacht Club at 64 Old South River Road, Edgewater, MD 21037.
Key West Location: Our boats are located at the Stock Island Village Marina at 7005 Shrimp Road, Key West, FL 33040.
A typical 1 day sail is 10am - 6pm
The boat, all her amenities, the marina pool, restrooms, showers.
Any captain’s fees and tips, fuel, pump-out fees, docking fees, and provisions (food/drink) are not included in the charter price. Your captain's fee is $400 per day + tip. Parties of 6+ require an additional crew member at $150 per day + tip.
Yes, these fees are not included in the charter rate. For multi day charters, boat must be refueled at Liberty Marina fuel dock by closing time.
Please feel free to bring any food or drinks for your trip. All of our boats have a small galley with small refrigerator and freezer. We recommend no red wine or cocktails that may stain as you would be responsible for the cleaning cost if any staining occurred.
We usually need 48 hours notice to prepare a boat
We do not cancel trips due to rain. If it is deemed unsafe to go out due to extreme weather on the day of the charter, we may cancel and all monies will be refunded or reschedule for another date during the calendar year.
We strongly encourage carpooling as parking is limited. Please acquire a parking pass from the Sail Away office before boarding the boat.
There is a small snack shop inside the marina. Yellowfin Restaurant is within walking distance from the Liberty Marina.
No, pets are not allowed on our boats.
No, smoking is not allowed on our boats. A $250 cleaning fee will be assessed if a smoke smell is detected inside the vessels.
You can always reschedule a charter for later in the current calendar year with no penalty and any funds paid will be applied to the new charter. Cancellations received more than 30 days prior to the start date will receive a full refund less a $350 cancellation fee. If cancellation occurs less than 30 days but more than a week prior to the charter, the Charterer will receive a full refund less a $750 cancellation fee. Charters cancelled within a week of the the start date will forfeit all funds.

We strongly recommend purchasing cancellation/trip insurance in case unforeseen circumstances occur. We offer information on outside trip insurance providers upon request or you may purchase cancellation protection from us for an additional 15% of the base charter rate. If purchased, the Charterer can cancel the reservation for any reason giving 48 hours notice without penalty and will receive a full refund of all funds paid, including tax and any additional options selected. The 15% cancellation protection fee is not refunded under any circumstances once paid.
